Left for the 13th WORLD BUFFALO CONGRESS

According to FAO, total world food demand will increase by 35% to 56% between 2010 and 2050. The greatest global challenge for this and the next generation is to produce enough food to eradicate hunger, amid shrinking arable land, climate change and pressures on natural resources.

The environmental impact of food production must be reduced from current levels. To achieve this, sustainable strategies must be put in place to produce and supply enough nutritious and safe food for a growing population. The world population is expected to reach 9 billion by 2050.

Water buffalo is an emerging species worldwide, except in India, and can contribute significantly to more sustainable food production in the long term. Dairy and meat products derived from buffalo are highly nutritious and meet human needs for high quality protein. As buffalo farmers, it is important that we contribute to a global strategy that addresses global food and environmental challenges.

That is why the Venezuelan Association of Buffalo Breeders, Criabúfalos, invites you to participate in the 13th World Buffalo Congress in Caracas, Venezuela from November 22-24, 2023. The congress will discuss key topics on sustainable food production with the use of water buffalo, where international experts will present the latest research and advances in buffalo management and production.

We encourage you to attend the congress and share ideas on how water buffalo can be a key part of the global strategy to eradicate hunger and achieve more sustainable food production. Together, we can collaborate in building a more sustainable and just future for all.

To register for the Congress and submit a research paper for consideration you can click here, or visit the “Registration and Scientific Program” section in the top menu.
